About our History

On September 28, 1878 the forefathers of Santuck community met to organize Missionary Baptist Church. For a brief time, the church met in a schoolhouse. In 1879 a rectangular building with three doors was erected to house the church. The original building served as a place of worship until around 1910. Then another sanctuary was erected for worship. In 1917 this building was valued at $900.00. In 1902 Santuck reported the organization of a Sunday School with 43 members enrolled.

Since 1878, forty four pastors have served the church and membership has grown to 1,500
with an average weekly attendance in Sunday School  of 500.
Our newly renovated sanctuary that seats 600 was dedicated on August 5, 2005
After celebrating 14 years with us as Senior Pastor, Rev. Morgan Bailey surrendered to a call to be the Senior Pastor at Canaan Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama.
On September 16, 2007, Rev. Gary Miller accepted God's call to be our Senior Pastor and so begins another chapter  in Santuck history.
We are excited about the future of Santuck and we are thankful for our past.
To God be the glory, GREAT things He has done!
